Journal Entry 13#

We are going to watch a movie on Thursday. After we watch the movie, write a summary describing the main idea and some of the important details.

Left one picture is my favorite part. The movie show us happiness. Let write here a short summary. There is a woman who is too old. Her family want to get marry with original Greek man. However, she met one original white guy, and they fall in love, but her family became to know the situation, so her father deny strongly. Finally, they got permission from her father, and then, there were big ceremony which is original Greek style. Also, they had a new house from her father and a their child. I think the movie show us a relationship. They have totally different cultural and think. However, they successful got marriage although they have a lot of disruptions. I saw a person who has strong patient and great understanding. That was unbelievable because usually people want to do for themselves. He looks like saying for me. “Hey, if you want to get marriage, you can give up everything, but that is not fail. You can get everything before get marriage.”

Today we talked about the three kinds of love (agape, phileo, eros). Write a paragraph explaining how these three kinds of love are diferent. What kind of relationship has which kind of love?

Simply explain, Agape is to love for god. Phileo is to love for friends and family. Eros is to love physically. Agape is absolute love such as mother for baby, people for god or environment. Phileo is relation love like brothers, sisters, teacher and student, and friends. Eros is physical love. Human is also kind of animal, but man’s purpose is not just breeding, so if you want to love of Eros, you should have moral and truly thought.

Journal Entry #10

We are going to the beach this Friday. Wait until after our trip to write this journal. If you aren't going to the beach, choose another great place to visit and write about that.

The Corona Del Mar Beach was good. I thought it was terrible hot, and I would stay at the big tent all day. However, my imagination was wrong. It was great weather and not strong sunny, so we could play everything. First of all, I played volleyball, but sand was too hot such as a flying pan, so I had to run continually. Next to, I swam. It was so good because after I did exercise. We surfed, but wave was too small, so we were now enough to enjoy. Also, it was too colder than I though. Someone said it will be better on August. Anyway, it didn’t matter like that is cold things because it was long awaited event. In addition, I played soccer. Last time, I didn’t play enough at Brazil’s, so I satisfied. In the evening, we enjoyed to take pictures. That time makes more friendly with other friends, and I like sunset also. It was really good time. Next vacation, I am going to other beach, and I’ll spend time like that.

My hero

My mother is my hero. There are several reasons why I look up to her. First, she is a good model. She always shows my brother and me how to do something before she teaches us something. For example, she makes us to read books and to study because she always read books and study everyday. Second, she is a responsible person because she went to university and take care my brother and I at the same time. Everyone who is my father, grandmother, grandfather, uncle, aunt, I, and even neighborhood thought that was impossible. However, she did it. Finally, she has an obvious dream. When I was 13 years old, my mother was pregnant. At that time, she wanted to go to university. She is a writer, but she didn’t graduate from university, so she thought she didn’t study enough. However, at that time, my father and I thought she was too late, because she was 39 years old, but she decided to go to university, and decided that although she has a little baby who was 1 year old. Now, she has graduated and she even became a professor. I want to be like a person who is my mother. I promised myself that I will show good behavior everyday, have responsibility, and do my best for my dream.

Do you think global warming is a serious threat to our enviroment? Write an academic paragraph with a good topic sentence and at least three supporting details.

Global warming is very serious problem for environment. We need to think about that because that makes terrible disease, change circle of life, and makes a dangerous of earth. First, Global warming causes lots of diseases because of naked ultraviolet. That is too strong to hurt human, animal, or plants’s skin because that was not protected by ozone. The strong ultraviolet makes skin trouble, moreover causes cancels. Second, Global warming has a power to destroy environment. Above all, weather is changed. That means everything can change. For example, some place’s climate is increased by Global warming, so many plants will die because they have to get proper sunny. Moreover, animals will decrease because they can not find to eat plants. However, lower animals will increase by geometric progression like plankton because they do not need things that is necessary to survive. Environment will change everything, and that influence even human. Finally, Global warming makes a dangerous of earth because warm temperature melt huge iceberg. That means height of sea will higher than before, and the land will soak in water. Global warming causes a disaster. In conclusion, we have to consider a problem of Global warming again. Since, that makes serious disease, destroy environment, and causes destruction of earth.

Body language plays a significant role in communication. Make a list (at least 10) of the different types of body language and explain what they mean. For example, a smile means that a person is happy.

1. If you stop suddenly smiling, that means you don't want to listen anymore.
2. If you don't echo about their asking, and just smile. That means you are too embarrassing.
3. If you make smile, and stop , and make smile again. That means you are calculating about them.
4. If you touch your the ridge of the nose and almost close your eyes. That means you are trouble or confuse.
5. If you move a little bit your the middle of the forehead. That means you suspect them.
6. If you back away suddenly your head. That means you are unbelivable.
7. If you nob automatically. That means you don't care about that.
8. If you are woman, and you untie your long hair. That means you want to sign of your attrective.
9. If you yawn with a stretch. That means you want to move or stand.
10. If you go restroom suddenly during the class. That means you are so sleepy or you want to take a break. ^^

This Wednesday is the Fourth of July. Please read this article about Independence Day and then write some of your own thoughts and observations about this holiday.

I didn't know about that before I read the article. It was interesting. I think most country has their history, and they have some celeblation about history. The Unitied State America has also. Korea did independence from Japan in 1945 August fifteenth, so they made celebration. However, in U.S.A, they did that, and make a new country. That is defferent point. Also, they has a big event every year in the each state and viliage. I watched fireball event with my friends on the Yorbarinda st. It took about 30 minites, and at that time, I could feel Amreican curture and history a little bit. The Independence is to make proude of one's country I think.

This Saturday is July 7, 2007 (7-7-7). Do you think this day is special? Will something lucky happen? Please write a story about a really lucky day. Make sure you exaggerate.

I have been living for 6 months. However, I don’t have a car yet , so I go to school by bike. My bike is good , but that is too hot to use in the summer season. In addition, that’s pretty old, above all I’m going to live in 5 years here, so I should have it. Yesterday, I decided to buy a new one, so my friend help that I am looking for a car, and we went the Garden Grov dlvd. First of all, we found the A store. The store dealer suggested a good price, and we got a information, and then we left there. Next to, we looked for other stores, but there were expensive. First one was best price, so I decided to there and to visit next day. At July 7th 2007, my friend said, “there boss is my brother in low’s friend, so we can buy cheaper than yesterday price! It was almost a half of window price! You so lucky!”. It was really lucky. I don’t have any other family or cousin in U.S.A even friends. When I came here at first, Actually, I thought that maybe I can't do that because I have never negotiated with big deal, also I can’t speak English very well. However, I did. And I thank for my friend who take me there, and it was so lucky day.
